Do you wake up and dread the day ahead? We all have mornings that start off that way, but it shouldn’t happen every day. Bring back some joy by giving yourself a little me time. Sometimes the best thing you can do for yourself is to give your needs and happiness priority. Wake up and do something you want to do. Wake up and do something you need to do. Wake up and do something that makes you happy. The constant grind of following everyone else whims is tiring.
There are all kinds of negative experiences. Staying on a hamster wheel trying to guess what others want for you or from you is the biggest energy drain. Living that way will definitely make you dread every new day. Instead, wake up every morning and do one thing for you. Even a tiny little moment that’s just for you, can start your day off right. For some people, that could be writing a chapter of the book they want to publish. Maybe you spend 10 minutes watching a You Tube video on something you want to learn. You can meditate, you can window shop online, you can play air guitar. Just start your day by doing something that makes you smile.
If you find yourself in a funky mood, think about what you’re doing and why. Are you doing it for yourself? Think about what you’re not doing and why? What is stopping you ? Start brainstorming how you can pull away from the activities that make you dread life. If you feel off balance, tired or anxious, it could be because you’re more focused on things that don’t matter to you and neglecting your true passion.
Recognize the worth of those passions in your life. Letting go and acknowledging your priorities can bring you intense relief and joy. If you don’t know where to start, think of the one thing you like doing the most and how you can add that activity to your day. Live your life not somebody else’s. Make your happiness a priority.
